Lonny Doherty was born in Goderich, Ontario. He now lives and works out of his studio in Toronto.

He takes inspiration from his surroundings, whether it is an excursion to the countryside or an urban parkland.

Influences include Tom Thomson, Lawren Harris and Claude Monet.

His paintings reflect the vibrant colours and natural designs provided by the four distinct seasons in Ontario.

Doherty’s 2001 piece Warm Cloud Tangle, was ranked in the top ten of International Artist Magazine competition. He was chosen among entrants from around the World. (June/July 2002 issue.)

Lonny is currently in the studio working on new pieces.
Prints of his previous work can be purchased at Saatchi Art.
